Default my broken tial knock off wastegate

yea so i had got an ebay turbo kit and put it on my car, everything is nice
went out for some test runs and i kept hitting 11psi and my map sensor dint like it
i could of sworn i bought the wastegate as a 7psi spring, routed the vacum line 2 different ways, after a few days i check the wastegate and hear a hissing noise coming from the top, i changed the wastegate with an extra one i had, from xspower =X, when i took off the wastegate, i shook it, and i heard rattling inside, i immediately took that **** apart and 2 screws from the top of the diaphram that hold the piston in came out, took off the diagpham and saw a chunk of the sealing area broken off, since i dint buy the wastegate directly from the seller, not sure if i can get a replacement on it, im not bashing on the knock off stuff but just my experience of one

here are some pix

thats exactly why you should be bashing the knock off stuff.

I don't think I've heard of one genuine Tial issue or failure in the past 8 years.

that why you NEVER NEVER EVER NEVER get CHEAP mechanical parts, you have to pay to play.... and i would be expecting MORE things to break so dont be mad when EVERYTHING everything goes wrong

but in all honest most knock off parts arent that much less that the real deal esp if you buy used. i just could NEVER run cheap parts, and if i had to cos i was on a budget or something, well i wouldnt be in this scene then.

I love idiots. I love people who don't inspect ebay parts before installing them to insure they are properly assembled and their production quality is up to snuff. I also like people who are unwilling to spend 30 minutes to do said inspection in order to save $100. Fantastic.

how in the hell is a 30 min visual inspection of an 'ebay part' supposed to prevent a failure down the road? are you supposed to magnaflux everything that shows up to your door? oh look, a crack!.. lets just weld it up and add a brace.

x2 with that bs, with a ebay turbo kit you are supposed to run it till it breaks and since its so cheap do it again till you understand you have spent enough to buy the real deal a few times

Another bright one. You do realize that most product failure occurs within the first few moments of use, don't you? Well do you actually believe that chunk of material fell off while it was on the car or do you have any sense and think it was already broken via shipment or assembly? Yea....I know progressive logical thought is tough.

I took my ebay wastegate apart after a year and two of those set screws were loose.
I just used some loctite and tightened them back up.

well this is nothing new tho, the only thing on a turbo kit that i feel is logical to cheap out on is intercoolers and intercooler piping, reason being is they arent exactly a mechanical mechanical part, they serve a purpose yes but not as big of a purpose as a turbo, wastegate, blow off valve. those are true working mechanical parts and failure with any of those can be extremely bad ie: boost creep!

not only that but most people who think they can get away with cheap kits also think they can get away with cheap EMS not all but alot, so the damage could already be done if you arent tuned and running good ems.

what does this have anything to do with this topic? the logical thinking of people who want boost but dont have the money to fork out for good parts so they settle with cheap ones and bitch about them breaking!

Im not ******* anyone i just think its the failure of research done and investing good money in bad parts! it sucks to see people go down this way

took the words outa my mouth. doesn't matter if it's real or fake, if its fvcked up the ebay seller WILL take it back and refund your money or send you a new one.

I agree. Logical thought would suggest staying away form this stuff in the first place.

2point2, take a minute and read up on globalization. Then walk around your home/apt/cardboard box and look how many of things you own, love, and use on a daily basis are made in some 3rd world industrial nation. Yea....so why can't someone use a wastegate made there but they can use a $15,000 TV made there? It's all about quality control. If you buy a cheap wastegate, the quality control will be low. The good thing is there isn't a lot to screw up with a wastegate. So when you get the box, you open it up and make sure everything is done correctly. You do your own quality control. This is how you save money. If they invested in higher quality control, it would result in higher costs. It's fairly simple. Again, I know logical thought is tough, but if you can bring yourself to a higher level of thought, you are able to save money and see things in a much more informed perspective.
