Default GSR W/ FI vs. LS W/ FI

All other things (mods) being equal.... How big of a difference would a GSR with forced induction make over a LS with forced induction. (or even difference in potential) I have heard that a Vtec engine will not make that big of a difference in forced induction engines. The reason I ask is becuase I am about to swap in a GSR engine into my '99 LS. And down the road I am planing on going with FI (not sure if turbo or super, but that is besides the point). I am wondering if spending the $3000+ on the GSR would be worth it if I am going FI later. Would the GSR FI yeild that much more HP that a LS FI?? Does the GSR FI allow for that much greater potential than LS FI. Or if I am planing on FI, should I keep the LS and us that engine for FI. Lets compare the to engines for Supercharging for arguments sake. Because if it would be better to keep the LS, I will probably supercharge it soon, buecase I could spend the $3000+ that I have on that now.

Keep in mind, I am thinking of this car as a daily driver project. I want to know which would be better and yeild the most gains down the road as a long term project. I'm not just looking for the most power for my buck as soon as possible. But yet, I don't want to spend $3000+ for the GSR if it is only going to give me a difference of 10-15 extra horsepower in the long run. I don't think that would be worth it.

Suggestions?? Advice??

If both engines are at the same boost, the GSR will make more power, but the thing is you can boost more on an LS because it has lower compression. Also LS gearing is better for FI

This has been discussed many times and found to be not true.

Pick one and run with it. You can make serious power out of both platforms. I personally prefer LS for Forced Induction.
