You do realize that an LS1 makes 3x more hp than any honda stock, and gets equal gas mileage right?

Things to check: o2 sensor, right ECU, pull any CELs, check timing, injectors

whats to fill you in ? you really think a LS1 gets equal MPG then a honda hybrid and thats just for starts... what about the vx's and cx hatch...the list can go on.. yes yes you already have the displacement..you can't have the great MPG as well

Good Story Go do a search on camaroz28.com sometime and see how many 360-420rwhp LS1's get 30-32mpg on average And last I looked, a honda hybrid is putting out a honda-overated 253hp to the flywheel.. quite a bit different than 360 to the wheels
And the Z06 Corvette? 505hp? 32+mpg? Sounds good to me 8*)

WTF is this even an arguement for??? an LS1 WONT get 30mpg unless driven by grandma on the highway doing 60mph for a whole tank, and power, bwahah, lets just say NOWHERE NEAR 100hp/liter.

but just for ***** and giggles lets really compare. 95 honda civic vx VS: 95 trans am. sure one will win 1/4 mile race, but the other will win a MPG test.

DONT COME IN HERE TALKING ABOUT YOUR DOMESTICS BEING ALL MIGHTY, THAT AINT COOL, SURE THEY MAKE GOBS OF POWER WITH THEIR 5.0L AND UP COMPARED TO OUR 2.4L AT BEST, BUT THEY SURE AS HELL DONT GET NEARLY AS MUCH MILEAGE AS THE HONDAS SO DONT EVEN TRY THAT ****.

Yeah, driven limp dicked around town with the CAGS system. Spent plenty of time in the F-body/C-body game..you ain't foolin me brother. Been there so hard I was invested in the company that made that t-shirt. Plus if you believe dealer claims to gas mileage your on crack. In reality people who drive those cars don't drive like Grandpa on his way to dialysis.

I mean, you know what, this is such an assenine statement I just am not going to continue to respond. If you honestly think a pushrod V8 is so damn efficient that it makes 3x the power on the same fuel as a stock Honda then you've immediately proven your not worthy of speaking.

Drop your T-tops and limp that Quadrajetted 305 out of here. Post an engine bay pic before you leave too so I can see that pep boys edelbrock air cleaner I know you have that gave you all that horsepower.

It wont get 30mpg unless driven by grandma? Ok. Keep that in mind while I post a thread on cz28.com asking for everyones mpg And whats 100hp/liter got anything to do with anything? Fact of the matter is. NO honda STOCK can compare with an LS1. Or LS2. Or LS7. Or.. well, you get the idea. But since domestics suck, lets wait for my thread to accumulate replies.

I never said that my 305 would get better gas mileage (well, actually it does.. 30mpg w/ the factory Quadrajet.. but thats neither here nor there in this conversation). Maybe you should get your reading comprehension straight. I said an LS1 not an LG4.

Actually, the dealer (and GM) not only underated the hp at 320 to the fly wheel (terribly wrong), but the gas mileage. I know people that get FAR better gas mileage than what the dealer/GM claims. But hey. It's only a pushrod v8 right? Remember that when I show you that thread I made, and remember that the next time your honda lines up against one.

thanks for digging your own grave.

and for the record, in the mid 80s honda started working on their fuel sippers, by 1992 they came out with the civic VX which gets upwards of 52mpg on the highway, and 48mpg in the city. that engine happened to be 1.5l in size, and pushed out a "FUN" 92hp at the crank, and the final drive of 3.25 gave less than lackluster performance, if you know what i mean. with that being said, sure ANY v8 will make more hp, thats where the HP/liter came into play, how many N/A stock GM engines make 100hp/liter??? and do it while making OVER 30 mpg??? NONE, dont "beg" people to say they do in your post, it doesnt happen. im a car enthusiest that is into every aspect of the game, not just hondas, hell i dont even drive a honda, so this is my honest un-biased opinion.

NOW, lets swap an H22 into the civic, 30mpg EASILY, 180whp/160wtq, and mid 13 second 1/4 miles. see my point????

I dug my own grave by showing people getting 30+mpg w/ their 330+rwhp LS1's? Wow do you guys here at HT do things weird. I NEVER ONCE said hondas don't get good gas mileage though. Dont play that card Brotha. But I am yet to see a bone-stock, right outta the factory floor 330+rwhp Honda achieving greater than 30mpg
Lets not get into motor swaps and mods, and leave this at a factory-level discussion
And I am unbiased as well. I will give a car credit where credit is due. And the LS1 (and LT1 for that matter) deserve credit as being some of the best all-around motors created.

this discussion was brought upon by you saying an LSx would get 30+ mpg, like that was better than a honda.

nobody has bashed your "pushrod" v8 either.

this arguement is pointless, by the way, NOBODY has said they can EASILY get 30+mpg on your link, most of them are actually critizising you for even saying something like that.

most of the LSx engines are efficient for their size, and make good power, but nowhere near as efficient as a HONDA, thats my arguement.

Oh.. no no no I wasn't saying it like it was better than a honda.. i was just responding to the guy that said "what.. are you driving an ls1 instead of an LS?" or whatever he said.. implying that LS1's were infact, of a lower level than hondas. And most of them said it was relatively easy; ie crusing w/ the windows down, top down etc..
