Head Light swap help on install
I got my son new headlites for his civic...I thought it was going to be a couple of bolts and swap em out like the tail lights......wrong!! Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to swap out headlights.....the last thing I read was that I had to take the bumper off!!! Crud!! 91 Civic Hatchback.........any help would be appreciated.
yes, you will have to take the bumper off. it's relatively easy, though...
1. unscrew the bumper where it meets the wheel well.
2. unscrew the two screws (per side) that hold in the bumper lights/turn signals.
3. pull the bumper lights out and disconnect the light bulbs.
4. unbolt (i want to say 14mm, but it might be 12mm) the two bolts that hold the bumper support to the car behind where the bumper lights are.
5. unbolt the filler piece (between the headlights/hood and the bumper itself)
6. you're ready to remove the headlights
it sounds like a lot of work, but it's really not that bad. good luck to you though, sir.
