Default Hondata Heat Shield

Hello All, Happ Xmas!

I am very interested in buying a hondata heatshield for my Euro CTR, and just wanted to see if anyone has fitted this part already to his car or anyone has some info on it. If yes please tell me what you think of it and if it really gives a 4% power increase as stated on the hondata website. also does it fit easily or is it a difficult job.

Thanks

Youīll never see a power gain of 4% from an intake manifold gasket. It will only help prevent power loss under hot conditions as the IM stays cooler, thatīs all.

Installation is not too difficult, youīll have to remove the airbox, throttle body and intake manifold and replace the gasket.

Thanks for info, what about boring the throttle body? do you think that is worth the money and effort?

Only if itīs done together with other intake/exhaust mods, otherwise itīs pretty useless IMO. A friend of mine had it done and you could feel an improvement in throttle response but he had a different airbox, cat and exhaust, too.

good to know, At the moment I have a AEM CAI, spoon 4in2 and Js 70rr exhaust so I think it should be the last mod I can make ti improve induction. Might aswell do the heat shiels as well while I am at it. Do you know how much it will cost to bore my own Throttle body approx?
