Were you still using the stock pads?

SRD, honestly, I would upgrade your pads. If you want the blingness, go for the Spoon caliper but I will always use cheapy rotors and a good pair of pads. Merry Christmas.
my OEM pads used to make wheel wobble after a single hard brake when attempting to use them shortly after
just changing my pads to EBC redstuff ceramic's cured this problem
OEM discs are fine with a good selection of pad

What size tire & wheel are you on? What kind of tires?
Do you plan on swapping on different pads before your track events or are you looking for a compromise between a street pad and track pad?
^ will help us in recommending a setup that is best for YOUR needs, rather than the people that just blindly recommend what they use for their car.
Merry xmass.

You obviously are being sarcastic becuase I think this bigger calp, bigger rotor comes up once a month.
All rotors are are peices of steel. I use Autozone front rotors that cost 25 bucks a piece. I use cobalt brakes. Don't forget to run some better high temp fluid. Like Ats superblue or that **** with the red cap...Brain is getting away from me. Someone chime in...
And then if you think you still need better brakes what tires are you running? That prolly why your not stopping fast enough then.

There is absolutely no point in wasting money on some blingy rotors! Autozone rotors, good pads, and spoon caliper user here and love them!

If you are: (1) on street tires, (2) plan on using the car for 95% street duty, (3) don't want to hassle with switching pads before/after track days, then I'd recommend a high peformance street / light duty track pad. I love the Cobalt lineup of pads. For what you're using the car for, I'd recommend the GT Sports.
I don't know what kind of auto part stores you have in IRE, but here in the states we have Autozone, CSK (checker, schucks, kragen), NAPA, Pep Boys, etc. Most all of them carry 'generic' brands of rotors (aimco, duralast, valucraft, etc.). I would go to your local autoparts store and just ask what kind of oem replacements they offer for your R. The plain jane blanks are more that suitable for a recreational driver. Stay away from the cross drilled and/or slotted rotors. Stick with the blanks.
I wouldn't bother upgrading the calipers if you're on street tires. Not worth it unless you want a shiny caliper under the wheel w/ a Spoon or Endless logo on it to show your friends. If you can still lock the brakes up at the end of a session when the brake system is heat soaked, then you do not need the extra torque from a bigger/stronger caliper.
I would look at upgrading your brake fluid. ATE Blue seems to the most popular at a 'reasonable price' (guess that's relative to your budget though
). I use the ATE Blue on my track car, it holds up very well on brake intensive circuit courses, even in the summer months when the ambient temps are 100-110 degrees.

Uhhh not sure if the dog's nads are good or bad. LOL.
I myself have never used the EBC Reds. But a friend of mine roasted through a set 2 weekends of track driving in his ITR. Stick with the Cobalt Friction or Hawk lineup.

were they EBC red ceramics or normal reds?
the normal reds are fine for street/light duty track work but certainly not up to being punished constantly and often, as your friend proved

normal reds.
And now that I think I think about, I guess if you took any of the 'street' pads from Cobalt or Hawk (or in EBC's case the Reds?) they may have the same fate with an instructor caliber driver flogging them for 16, twenty minutes sessions within a 14 day span.
Maybe the reds aren't all that bad for this type of scenario.
