Hey there, i was cleaning my battery and took one of the power plugs off the battery and the alarm went off so i put my little key in that little black box to stop the alarm from going off after i was done i put it back on and the alarm wouldnt work so of course i turned the key on , on the little back box and it worked it arms my car but when i try to start my car < accessory works > but when i try to turn the engine on it starts to make this very fast clicking noise and my car wont start at all.
any ideas?
ps. i got work tomorrow morning

Make sure the connections are fully tight and try disconnecting the power connection to the alarms "brain". On my Jag I had an alpine alarm system on it, when it started to go it would kill the starter as if someone were breaking into the car, once I disconnected the system, it let me use the car just fine. Now of course this wouldn't be a permanent fix since you need the alarm system but to get you to work it may help. Other option would be to disconnect the negative and positive terminal of the battery and let the ECU and Alarm "brain" reset itself. Something like DC the battery and have a cigarette or something. Hope this helps, good luck to ya!
What went off when you disconnected your batt. was not the alarm, it was your backup batt. siren, [doing what it was meant to do, go off if power is cut].
If the "fast clicking noise" is coming from under the dash it is probably a starter cut relay, controlled by the alarm.
I agree with both wrx-killer-Sti eater and bart2546 recheck your batt. connections, and when reconnecting, connect the poss.(+) terminal first, then the neg.(-).
If that fails, find the starter cut relay, [shouldn't be hard if it's whats making the noise] unplug the relay and install a jumper wire to bypass the starter cut system, that should get you going for work tomorrow.
