Looking for D16 Motor Combonation!
I was told by my local speed shop that i can get 14's out of a combo of d16 parts, like a y8 head with a6 pistons and z6 rods i am trying to figure out the combo anyone Know the combo and with this combo what will i run
zc or a1 pistons yield very high compression in most motors. i dont know if this is what you are looking for. are you going to daily drive it? i also believe that you can get more compression out of a y8 headgasket. what is your ideal compression?
My setup
d16z6
a1 dome piston
head ported with stage 1 crower cam
z6 rods
head shaved 00025.
C/R came out around 13.1
Its got some detnation problems, but thats due to me not runing good enough gas in it. With a better tune and slicks Im looking at some low 13s.

I am looking for a daily driver and i know i will have to run 91 octane and i would like to stay around 12.0 or 12.5 to 1 CR but nothing over 13.0.1 other than these internals i am planning on doing, injectors, cams, mild portwork, fuel pump, fuel regulator, and a skunk2 intake manifold anything else you guys can think of??
So you are running a Z6 motor with a1 pistons and Z6 rods, a1 pistons, cam, portwork, and the head was shaved thats it for internals, if i did this with all the bolt on i said earlyer what do you think i would run with street tires in a 98 civic 2 door

So i am going to run a z6 Block with a z6 head that has been ported and polished, camand gear, full intake full exhaust skunk2 intake, a6 or a1 pistons arp head and rod bolts ,and on pump gas, what do you think this setup will run in a 98 civic 2 door?? i would like to hit low 13's and if i add a 50shot off nos what would that do for me, would that get me into the 12's maybe, ohh yeah and on street tires with lowering springs< just want to make sure all of the basics are covered??
That would blow your dseries into many small parts.
Just get IHE and put a 50shot on it. Its easy its cheap, and lets be honest, thats really what you are looking for.

http://www.d-series.org is alot worse that HT. I am all about sohc but I don't like it over there.
to be honest..i think you would run low 14's..because of the wieght of your car...but your setup sounds nice...same setup im going for...p29's all day..

Si you are syaing a Stock A6 with stock internals and a 50shot of nos with IHE and i will run 14,s , where in the 14 range though like i said i am trying to get into the 13 range if i do a little work to the motor on top of the 50 shot of nos the i can probably do it right
when I first dropped the Z6 in, it ran same ET's with stock S20 EX/Si or close ratio, 14.85 was ran on a stock tranny, 20x8x14 MT's at 12 psi, I always run slicks and launch like a madman.

I have over 1000 passes in my 93 HB, over 2000 passes lifetime down the 1/4 mile strip.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I'm very skeptical of that. Even it you owned it since new, you're talking about a **** load of passes. Why would you run it that much?
*still snickering at the thought of a 15 second car on slicks*

I'm pretty sure that I ran my car that many times. Some people just like to beat on their car alot because that they know that the can fix it. I tend to launch my car about 5 times a day sometimes. Alot more if I go out racing. Without seat time you car have a **** load of power but be slow a ****.
d series is ait on motor in a light car. I would try to go FI or swap in a b series in something like a coupe

Passes = runs at a track. Not beating on it on the street. Sorry.

I've had my car for 11 years and 170,000 miles. in 1998-2002 I was going 15-20 time a year to Edgewater or Tristate, was easy to get 10-12 passes in with cool down periods.
5 years, 15 times a year, 10 passes each trip.........
that 750 passes right there......

Grab a lane on the street or at the track if we are both on the same tire I guarantee you I wll be a head of you by the 60 foot. That's were races are won, if you ever spot anybody out you know how hard it is to gain back that car or two if cars are somewhat equal.
BTW I'm not an idiot I don't go crazy on any street. I live in the middle of nowhere and there alot of times that at night there is no car in a mile radius around me. Leaves me alot of room for practice.
Some people think street racing is wrong because they see all this BS of ricers in city going down industrial roads 100s of cars and so on. Real street racing ain't nothing like that. No cars, totaly secluded area, just two cars and **** load of room. Yea it's illegal but at least do it smart. Track is nice but a two hour drive kills it. Build a track somewhere closer and you will be a rich man. Seriously I would street race if I had somewhere else to go.
