Default Kinsler intake manifold itbs. Anyone have any info on it?

Hey guys I found this from kinsler.com Kinsler is a big name in fuel injection and carbs with the v8 market. Has anyone ever seen or used this manifold? Any info would be sweet. It looks like the runners/flange are cast?

Well there are no prices at kinsler's site. I downloaded their on-line catalog and still found nothing more about the manifold. I e-mailed them asking the price and anything else they have about the itbs. Hopefully they'll reply back

Thanks for your e-mail. I thought it would be more effecient to reply here.

The manifold you posted is one of two that we made for Skunk2's K-series engines. It is cast aluminum but it's not made specifically for a K-series, Skunk2 made a billet adapter plate to go between our manifold and their head. It's hard to make out from that low-res pic - but that's why it has a perfectly square bolt pattern. From what I understand, they were happy with it, the short, fat runners worked great for the high RPM HP they wanted. I have a similiar system in the works for a different company running a 10,000+ RPM B series.

It's coincidental that I just had a meeting this morning with our VP about modifying an existing throttle body casting to accomodate the oval ports on import heads. The proposal I gave was well received and when it moves forward, I'll be able to cover any Honda head with ITB's ranging in throttle size from approx. 1.500" to 2.250" and runner lengths from approx. 5" to approx. 10". We have projects for TRD and Mopar in the works that take priority over these throttle bodies, but I'm hoping to have them ready to go by fall 07'.

They will all be made to order - just like everything else we do here, so if you open up the intake ports on your head, our throttle bodies will be made to fit it without you having to port them, as well as whatever throttle size you need and ramtube/runner length. I'm aiming for a $1,500. to $1,700. price point but since everything we do is custom, it's kinda hard to nail down an exact price.

We are an AEM/DC distributor and we've been doing various things for imports for quite a while. I'm more than happy to help out anyone from the H-T. Ask for Scott at (248) 362-1145 or e-mail me directly at scott@kinsler.com

^Thanks.

If someone is looking to get a similar piece with the casting pictured above - you'd be looking at approx. $1,900 with the fuel rail, TPS boss/drive, and manifold linkage. But you'd still have to come up with an adapter to get it on a Honda head.

The ITB's I proposed will not need an adapter - you'll be able to take it out of the box from us and bolt it on. I've been talking with our VP quite a bit today, we may be able to get these out a bit earlier than next fall. If anyone's interested in ITB's for any import head, please IM or e-mail me.

Thanks for the reply Scott Ive been seeing the ads you guys put out in Dsport ever since its begining and i always assumed the things you were pushing to the import market were general parts any auto would use. But it is good to hear Kinsler is starting from scratch w/ import market. I can understand mopar market but what exactly are you making for toyota?

That one was actually a modified magnesium IRL manifold. We could still do something similar.

The casting above could have 2.0" (51mm) up to 2.5" (63.5mm) throttles.

There's not a chance in hell they make 350hp......

Just an FYI,

An EPRE Toyota, Stanton Mopar, or Esslinger Ford, are all above 370hp. The pushrod engines like the Toyotas, Mopars, Chevys, and older Fords are limited to 166cu.in. (2720cc), while the SOHC Fords that Esslinger builds are limited to a smaller 161cu.in. (2638cc).

Oh, just incase anyone says, build a Honda...

4 valve engines are limited to 144cu.in (2359cc) with stock block and head castings (before modifications). If you were to run an DOHC with aftermarket head or block, you would be limited to 121cu.in. (2000cc).

You would need to make at least 370hp. and 230ft. lbs, and some engines are producing upwards of 380hp. and 260ft.lbs.

What kind of setups do you have for imports using sidedraft carbs ? Maybe Bisimoto can chime in I figured it would only be a matter of time before people started asking about Kinsler products.
