Default looking to buy itr...is this worth it?

00 PY ITR. Spoon 16 inch wheels. Tein shocks & springs. Rear strut brace/bar . carbon fiber hood. spoon carbon fiber lip. metal jdm front end with HIDs. Apexi exhaust. Spoon headers. Port and Polished head. Valvetrain. Mugen ecu with 10k rev limit.

Only thing is the motor isnt the cars original motor. Its a brand new ITR motor...but he has put 5 k miles on it. He has papers to prove this. Anyways the asking price is twenty four . Is it worth it?

It's not salvage. The engine was probably blown. But if the car is in good shape now, I don't see a problem but at $21k, not $24k.

Well, it looks like he's put some money into the car with those additional parts.

Spoon rims: $2000
Tein coilovers: $1000
JDM front end w/HID: $2000

Those are approximate prices, but you get the idea. You could always ask him to remove some of the aftermarket items and lower the price.

You should find out how many miles are on the car (not the engine), too. I'm assuming the car has never been in an accident and has a clean record?

Sounds like a decent deal to me... I'd check the VIN, and the engine code, check out all the paper work...

Its not salvage. He sold the stock motor for some reason and got this. If the vins and everything is coo you guys think its worth it?

Also forgot to mention the head is milled and he has jdm floormats, jdm shiftboot. BTW the car itself has about 40 k miles.

Thanks

Keep in mind the car IS 2 years old .. mods are great, but when it comes down to it in a year you'll have a 3 year old car. Not saying that it isn't a great car, but to pay MSRP for a 2 year old car (even with mods) is asking a bit much IMO

I agree with Slash. $20k-$21K is a fare price.

I'd say go for it, that's a big list of modifications they've got on that R, those are quality modifications. If the car is in good condition, $24K is a good deal.

Please remember people that the cost of a Type R is going to vary depending on where you are in the country. Not to mention that the R is a very rare (especially nowadays) sportscar and I don't feel that you can apply typical depreciation rules to it. Just my opinion guys.
