Default I hope I'm not screwing anything up.

This didn't quite fit anywhere else so i hope it can go here.

I'll be picking up my first Honda of my own later next month. Its going to be a 91 Hatch (non Si). My only previous car was a 98 jeep cherokee sport, it just died on me around 1 month ago.

But onto my plan, I want a car I can be able to autocross, club race, or maybe even road rally on the weekend, and then drive to school again on monday. I'm not looking for a 400hp super engine or anything, just some thing I can have fun in, alot of fun at that. What would be some worth while upgrades to make to the car with out spending over, lets say 1k.

Oh and a link to a fairly decent online parts supplier would be greatly appriciated

Im sorry if I did anything wrong, as this is my first post.

You chose well. But try to do a mpfi conversion on your car. then boost it( that is if you just want to get power out of your car.

First thing i would suggest is getting strut tower bar since (in my case) its better with it. also you can get it from ebay, since stores usualy the cheapest they sell is the same thing you can get on ebay for 1/4 of the cost.

Other then that suspension is at your discression. for autocross i guess you would need it harder to recover quickly from successif turns.

Intake also..just order from ebay the metal tube and use a kandn cone filter.

Also try getting parts from all around not from the dealer because sometimes there prices are f****d (asking 250 $ can for a 30$ oxygen sensor in my case.)

Dont forget to mpfi it..because having 4 injectors are alot better then just 2 ^^.

cya around. have fun with your car^^

If you're trying to save money and be reliable, DON'T boost it. I agree, do an mpfi swap (shouldn't barely cost anything if you find someone swapping out for something better), some suspension (spend most of your money here, cheap suspension is NOT worth it). And just have fun.

You made a decent choice for your needs, although the Si trim would have been ideal. Still, you can work with what you have.

I would highly recommend asking any autocross or DE related questions in the H-T Road Racing/Autocross forum. Most people here in the CRX / EF tech forum will give you advice on modifications without any thought or regards to autocross classing rules and already proven track-only or competition parts.

I'll have to start by recommending that you DON'T do any modifications until you read the rule book for your sanctioning body (SCCA, NASA, local sports car club, etc.), especially something as drastic as an MPFI conversion, which for SCCA Solo will bump you from Stock all the way into Street Modified, where you definitely don't want to be yet.

Good luck, and send me a private message or post in the RR/AX forum if you want to discuss more.

As for online parts retailers, it depends on what parts you're looking for . . .

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Edit: (for autox)Where would the car be placed if I did new springs, airfilter, intake, rotors, and pads?

I wouldn't be able to my car in the street touring class, correct?

so would that bump me into the street prepared?

Damn, these rules are confusing
