Default mild with stainless?

hello, im completely clueless about welding. My question is: Can a "mild Steal" flange be welded onto sus304 stainless steel exhaust piping.

Absolutely, use 309l filler rod.

Thank you. I bought an exhaust that had had the first flange cut off. I'll be taking it to a shop to be welded. I was just looking at buying a flange/gasket on the net so they don't try to jack up the price even more.
