Default 1997 accord engine swap

Hello all, I have a 97 accord lx 5sp. I just installed a 95 ex 5spd engine in the car, I used the 97 harness, distributor, fuel injectors. Got everything hooked up, and relized the computer I got with the engine is not the right one at all. The computer that was in my car is a P0J-L11, and the timing cover on the 95 engine I just installed has P0A on it. So I believe I need a P0A computer, but not sure other then that... If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appriciated. Thanx, Kevin

should be able to use your ECU with your harness as long as all the sensors plug in

So to Clarify your original post, you are now telling us that you are changing from a non-Vtec engine to a Vtec engine??
the part number on the timing belt cover has nothing to do with ECU part numbers.

you can use the lx ecu but he wont have vtec and will have a CEL for it.

as far as i know for an obd1 motor into and obd2 car...
you need an obd1 conversion harness and you need to repin the dizzy with an obd1 dizzy plug and extend the crank angle sensor wires to that plug as well.

vtec soleniod: Pin A4
vtec pressure switch: Pin D6

Ok, when I installed the the 95 Vtec engine, I used my 97 harnes, so it's got the crank angle sensor there already, and I extended the first O2 sensors wires, and got the hooked up. I just don't know what computer I need for the car...

95 vtec is an obd1 engine. you are putting it in an obd2 car. you may be missing a few sensors if you use an obd2 harness: CEL.

what exactly would i have to do to get it to start? i notice its not getting any spark and somebody was saying something about a knock sensor or crank sensor or somethin that the obd2 accords have the the obd1 motors DONT have. im confused
