Volume decreases sometimes when braking
At first i thought it was just me, but the other day i had a friend in the car with me and we both noticed the volume decreasing automatically when the car was braking. This doesn't happen to me all the time, but happens sometimes, anyone else?

All Civic audio systems provide as much as 350 watts through seven speakers on EX Coupe and Si models, including an external amplifier and 8-inch subwoofer. All Civic audio systems have MP3/WMA CD playback capability. Auxiliary audio input jacks are standard equipment on LX and above trim levels allowing for portable music device playback through the car's speakers. XM Satellite Radio is standard on navigation-equipped EX, Si and Hybrid models. The Civic LX Coupe models have a six-speaker 160-watt audio system with a single-disc CD player (four speakers for the LX sedan). All audio systems feature Speed-Sensitive Volume Control (SVC) that automatically adjusts the volume based on vehicle speed. Audio displays include CD/MP3 text readout, and the coupe provides a customizable welcome screen (non-navi).

the volume is supposed to increase as u go faster so that you dont have to fiddle with the volume when ur driving fast and the car is making a lot of road noise. as you slow down it goes back to normal.
my svc is set to medium. that keeps the volume at a nice comfortable position when driving.

if you don't notice it then it means it's doing it's job, when you get on the highway your car gets louder as does the stereo, when i put in my new system it was the first thing i noticed, everytime i get on the highway i turn up the stereo then when i get into town i turn it back down again, almost wish my kenwood had the svc too
i'm sooo glad i read this... everytime i read that SVC bullstuff... i turned it on high... like as if it did something to increase the volume.. lmaoo

Holy crap!! If I have a cd/ipod in there is no way I can listen to it at 40. I listen to it like at 20 with a cd/ipod if I love the song. I could probably do 25 but that would be freaking loud. Am I just acting like an old person or do my listening habits seem normal to you guys except for bonZai?

When ever I see a cop and slow down. I instinctively turn down the radio on my steering wheel.(Manual SVC
) I don't know why I do this but just think its funny. I keep my actual SVC on high and have never noticed it so I guess it's working.

i leave mine on high and when i get on the interstate, i will actually turn the radio down to about 15 just cuz when the windows are up its loud as hell inside the car. 40?!?!? have ur speakers not blown yet? but yea, i leave it on high so that way when speeding u get the most outta ur stereo. especially nice when driving around town and u got a good song on, then u just speed up to about 45 and it gets louder and well yea u know

Someone didn't read their manual. There are 4 settings to SVC. Off, Low, Med or High. Personally, I like this function. It is a pain in the *** to have to turn your stereo up when you are on the highway because your engine is louder. Same goes for cruising through the streets.
