Default 98 gsr swap in 96 hb help??

I currently have a full USDM 98 gsr swap into my 96 cx hatchback. For the swap, I used my stock cx wireharness. I'm using the gsr carbon/charcoal canister and I need to hook it up directly to my ECU. The sensor plug on the gsr canister has two wires. It has a RED (with yellow strip) and a YELLOW (black strip) wire.

The slot I should be pinning to is A-29 VSV- EVAP Control Canister Vent Shut Valve. My question is do I use the RED or the YELLOW to run to the ECU? thanks

I believe you use the red with yellow strip, but I am not certain. I would double check this using wiring diagrams of both harnesses

well i checked the wiring diagram for the GSR and it says it's a light green wire.. i'm confused because there is no light green wire on any sensor plugs on the gsr harness.

since ur not using a gsr harness u wont be looking at the diagram for the gsr...look at the wireing diagram for 96-00 civic and look at which wires are for the evap canister and start from there

my bADD.. most people dont know and i also forgot to mention that the stock CX harness doesn't come with a plug for the charcoal canister. the stock cx canister doesn't have a sensor plug period. so yeah, i'm using the 98 gsr canister now. i cut off the canister plug from the gsr harness. i need to run it directly to the ECU. i don't know which wire to use. HELP anyone???

ok so ur saying ur 96 civic doesnt have a plug on the canister?? im not sure but i think my 98 cx hatch does but i dunno i havent checked..newayz i was bored so i decided to look in my haynes manual and traced the 2 wires ur asking for and the RED w/YELLOW leds to A15 and the YELLOW w/BLACK leds to a splice between A11 and A24...supposly there is 3 wires spliced together..hope that helps

yeah man my 96 cx doesn't come with it. seems weird to me too cuz i thought all 96+ had it.. oh well it doesn't hurt to wire it straight up to the ECU. well thanks man i think you've just answered my question. if the red w/yellow leads to A15, then that means its the one i'm looking for. thanks a lot bro

well the 97 gsr charcoal canister shouldn't have a sensor on it. does urs?? i believe its 98+ only. i just checked my buddy's 96 integra gsr and he doesnt have the sensor on it. he told me 96 and 97 shouldn't have it but the 98 does (for whatever reason).. so i think we have different issues with our cars.

anyway, the answer to ur question is NO. i dont feel power really late. well, i think mine is about right. i have a few buddies with gsrs and they're all about the same. maybe there's something wrong with ur motor???

both wires are supposed to be hooked up to the ecu...the red with yellow strip is the signal wire while the yellow and black is the power wire...

wait, i don't think u read it correctly. i do have a canister. my harness just don't have a sensor plug for the canister. only 98+ civics/integras come with a sensor on the canister. i'm just wondering which slot it would go to. if u could, check the lines from ur canister and see which slot on ur ECU it goes to..? thanks a lot for a response. a response is better than no response
