Default Head Port and/or Polish

first new thread on H-T, so proud

ok guys, i've been searching this forum and a couple of others for what seems like hours now, but i've not come across anything that seems to actually relate to what i need to know.

either i've just searched badly so far or it isn't there. i never mind when i'm proven wrong

so far i've got a Mugen intake, JDM 4-1 mani, decat (test pipe ) and Fujitsubo RM-01A. After Hondata S200 and Mase i made 179whp on a dyno dynamics.

since then i have bought a head package, Jun 3 cams, Jun springs, Jun Ti Type-2 retainers, Jun cam gears, bronze valve guides, Supertech Nitride coated valves, ARP heatstuds, STR cam seal, and on the way is a Toda timing belt, RC 310cc injectors and an OEM headgasket.

my question gentlemen is:

while the head is off, is it worth me getting any port/polishing done? and if so to what degree...?

if its going to be worth it performance-wise i may well do it, but if its a debateable question then i shall leave as-is.

also if there are any other little odds and sods that some of the tuning veterans believe is worthwhile, i'm open to comments and suggestions

thanks in advance

When I had my engine open I just sent the head to portflow, might as well if you are opening it up .

You can make a lot of power in the head. I would recommend it but this usually is not the fastest of turn around times. If you don't need the car put back together right away, go for it.

well its not being done for maybe 6 weeks or so. which is why i want to do my homework now before its a bit late. my schedule is aimed so Mase (cockend if hes reading perchance) can tune it when he gets to this country on 10th March.

if it takes a few weeks for the head to be sent away and done, so be it, my shop reckon they can lent me a car for the time its being done. what sort of turn around time do you guys reckon it would be?

any links by the way?

i heard that port and polish will cause you to burn a lot of oil. more than it already does.

Somewhere around 250 for a basic valve job and resurface to 1000 plus for full port and polish.
