Default Mugen Door Visor Installed.

Well i got a half hour to set down and install teh visor, took almost no time at all, and i didn't really need the instructions at all, not that they would have done any good since i can't read Japanese, lol, but it was alot easier then i thought, i wish i would have washed the car before taking pictures, but i couldn't wait, so i'll wash it later on, but here's teh pics peeps.

Looks like my Explorer could use a good washinga swell.

I'm guessing that for the money you spent on those visors, you could have come close to getting a decent set of lowering springs, which would make the car look good instead of like a Pep Boys tuner car.

while that may be true, guess what, don't care to lower it yet, or it would have been done already.

And i'm guess that for the time you spent to post taht reply you could have gave a more positive response on what the thread was about.

even if he's right, i'm not going to spend my money on just a set of spring, only to turn around and blow out my shocks in no time, wouldn't it make more sense to buy a spring and shock set, which cost more then my Pep boy's Ricers authentic Mugen door visor?

I could care less that they're Mugen--door visors of any brand look like rice. It's an easy tack-on that says "hey look! I did something to my car!!!"

A car on aftermarket wheels and stock ride height looks like rice.

Been in the Honda scene WAY too long to think otherwise. Just because it's Mugen-equipped doesn't mean it can't look cheap.

My biggest criticism about the Fit scene at the moment is that so much of it is done half-assed.

God forbid people do things their own way. Maybe the guy doesn't have the money for a setup right now. Im pretty sure on your car, or anyones car on HT, that you upgrade in stages. You don't bolt everything on at once unless you buy it all at one time...

It got intake and exhaust within first 6 months of ownership, lowered a couple of months after that, wheels came a couple of months later. It snowballed from there to a full NA tune/suspension/every system in the car improved, but I didn't run out and do fluff stuff to it the first chance I got.

The import scene got it's cheezy repuation from people tacking on non-performance fluff/rice parts onto their cars instead of investing in in actual performance parts. That's what I'm seeing in the Fit scene in droves.

I know, it's everyone's right to run out and get lip kits, shift *****, visors, dash kits, pedal covers and all that stuff, but those people who have been into cars in in general for awhile consider it cheesy.

When I first came onto honda-tech, that stuff was viewed as downright sinful. My, how times have changed...

well according to this guy's signature he's got a CF hood. well NOT painting it could be considered rice. Also he seems defensive about it while he tries to dish it out.

hmmmm i wonder if this 99 Si is blue...to me that's common and ricey.

In the period when I modded my car, there was a lot of debate as to whether or not a hood should be painted.

First off, I got the hood to take some weight off of a nose-heavy car (not rice).

A vast number of circuit race cars at the time (early 2000's) would have raw carbon hoods (race cars=not rice)--If anything, it was the show car guys who would bust ***** about unpainted CF hoods (show cars=prone to riceiness)

Also, for that period of time (early 2000's) Spoon's race cars all had raw CF hoods. This became the benchmark of what "clean" was considered at the time (clean=not rice)

..and how in the hell is a stock factory color that is specific to the model considered ricey? So Champinship White is ricey on a 97 ITR???

Regardless, my car has always been pretty well-received--online or in person. Whatever. Maybe I'll throw some 17's on it and stick it back to stock ride height. That'll look good.

the point is that it's a choice and your reasoning doesn't justify putting others down. if you look more into the point of the visors, there's a good reason for them.

oh and your analogy of color on an 97 ITR vs. an Si isn't exactly the same things. An ITR in that period ONLY came in white while many ricers in my opinion went for the blue si to be flashy. Also saving weight for a true racer makes absolute sense but for a street car? could be very much considered rice.

The car gets autocrossed and tracked. Weight reduction is never a bad thing in these situations.

Also, my car is pretty understated--not flashy.

nice visors....thinking of picking up a set as well. but i must ask....since my Fit has the Spoon high flow air filter (which im swapping out very soon for a real intake) and a Spoon Cat-Back Exhaust and a set of rims with summer tires....does getting the visors make me a ricer? hahah sorry had to be a smart ***....

rice or not i love the visors on the Fit and i have a race-prep EG (so i know difference between race and rice) so dont flame. and yes...b16, no interior with exception of one bucket seat, a tach, misc. gauges, SCCA approved cage does qualify as race prep before anyone talks ****. and no its not in my sig cuz the mod list would run way too long

also before i forget how much did the visors run for?
