Default Polishing Aluminum.......

how would you go abt polishing aluminum that is not smoothed out so to say. like the block and stuff?? how can i get it smoothed out and wat do i need to do it with?? i posted this in the tech forum but no luck anyone in here know anything?

sanding wheels for your dremel for small spots.
buffing wheels + buffing wax.

200 hours of your time.

agreed. I spent dozens of hours buffing a set of rims - major waste of time. It's easier to just live with it than to **** away days of wasted effort

aluminum will buff out very well once you have a 400grit smooth finish. Do not use a dual action "DA" sander as those little swirls will have you talking to yourself.
400 finish is real good and although you can go to 500 or 600 the 400 works and I have had the best results with it as far a longevity of the paper versus the benefit of the finer finish. Its allot of hard work even with all the correct tools. I do allot of ducting and mounting brkts made out of aluminum.
