Speaker Vibration SOLVED! (new information)
For those of us with the horrific vibration noise coming from the rear speaker area, I have found the location. Unlike what most of us has thought, and even had the dealer attempt to insulate (including me) with failure, I have finally taken the time to find the vibration. Its the roof! Right where the headliner meets the back window. Pop in your favorite Civic-rattling CD, hop in the back seat, and wait for the noise, then push up on the headliner right on the edge where it meats the back window with your open hand. Stops. At least it does for me, I am going in for an oil change in the morning and I am going to show the service guy this.
Hope this fixes it once and for all.
Yep, I noticed the exact same thing a couple weeks ago... slight rattle from rear-- upon applying pressure to headliner it stops... so had a tech look at it, confirmed problem and ordered myself a new headliner... you may be able to pad it or put different/more clips in to fix the noise but warranty FTW big time on this one
i imagine most dealerships will end up applying some wool felt and new clips to resolve the problem... i'll let everyone know if a TSB / equivalent pops up. The rear tray is also a typical source of rattle from rear so get that bulliten performed if you havent done so already

there is one for the rear deck, not yet one for the others. I think when I get my helm manual, im going to disassemble most of the interior panels and insulate it all. This is ridiculous.
Being that it is a service bulletin, they should still service it, but it would be better to remove your hardware so they dont mess anything up. Note that their fix wont prevent aftermarket subs from rattling parts anyways. If you have two 12s in the back, youre goin to get rattle in almost any vehicle... better to do a self insulation job
yay! i just took my car into honda this mornin to get that vibration noise fixed. took em 4 hours to do it but agreed it sounded horrible and just installed some rubber insulator into the rear panel on top where the vibration was comin from.. MUCH BETTER!

For me, I took the rear deck out and listened for the rattle (with bass +6 and sub+2 and big bass song).
Guess what? I still heard it!
After some feeling around to find the rattle, I found out that my OEM trunk CD changer was the cause. The outside plastic case was rattlin against the insides.
I guess I could try a zip tie and a sock
