I got a newer altinator from a friend since i smoked mine. My problem is is the plug and socket are different. The plug on the harness is round, the socket on the altinator is square. I know this is an obd1 - obd0 conversion thing. so what i need help with in what wires goes to which other wire...and FAST

i got the right plug for the altinator and will be wiring it in. Anybody able to tell me what wires from the harness matches the one on the proper plug?

colors of the plug wires:

Harness:
solid blue
blue/white
yellow/white
yellow/black

square plug (for new altinator):
green/white
red/white
blue/white
yellow/black

im working on this tonight to get it running tomorrow

 

If the alternator plug is square than you have an OBD-2 alternator, for which I don't happen to have the wiring diagram lying about. I DO KNOW if you search though, you'll find the diagram as I've found it in the past.

well i went at it to just wire it up. 2 wire pairs matched. The other two i had to guess. 50% chance of getting it right :-|

I got it right though and all is working fine. Wired the square plug to the old harness and it worked. go me for luck. Ill post up which wires went where when i look at it again.
