has anyone had any experience with additives or tranny coolers on theyre auto tl/cl? Also, are the non- type s trannies less prone to issues than the type s versions? I try to hit the track two or three times a season for some fun. Any hope in keeping this thing together? I drive an integra right now, thats perfect for the track, but I may need a better comuter car next year for work, and I love the CL's. Any help is appreciated. Ryan

dispite what others will tell you, nothing you do short of a DR evil trans will prolong the life of your trans....changing the fluid once a year is about the best thing you can do.
The problem is that there are problems in the following areas
1. 3rd gear clutch packs are of inferior build quality
2. some parts of the trans get insufficient lubrication that exasperate problem #1. The transmission fluid can see temps over 315F when shifting between 2nd and 3rd.
The problems were so bad that they basically redesigned the 5at to a 4 shaft design that corrects all of these issues. Unfortunately the unit is NOT backwards compatable (differnt mounts and sensor hookups)

Thanks for the reply. That was basically my take on it. Its such a shame, because they are amazing cars to drive Maybe if I eventually pick one up, I'll set aside some bucks just in case it fails. Thanks again. Have a great Christmas
