Does anyone know if the specs. for the japaneses and american Honda are the same? I'm thinking of buying some parts in the States and my Honda Accord,V6, 2000 is form Japan and I was wondering if the parts will work on my Accord.

I find it hard to believe that you have a Jap spec Accord with a V6 as they only came in 4 cyl form. Unless you are saying you have an Inspire which is what the Japanese call our Accord. But the Jap Accord is our TSX which has no V6 option in any country.

If you have an Inspire, yes the parts will work.

 

First of all he has an 2000 Accord. They start making USDM TSX over there starting 2003. I think 2002 and below USDM and JDM accords are alike in some ways. But as in parts? They use diff engine. We use F series they used H Series. Even though they are compatible in almost everyway, some will not.

Look at USDM Accord and JDM Accord in 2000, they have almost the same lights, shape and everythings, but way diff.

But I agree with H2290... Jap spec Accord V6?! Hmmmm.... I think u misread. Some of the Accord was built in Japan.

 

Are you saying that your accord is made in japan instead of US, or is it that your car is JDM instead of USDM. I thought they stopped making USDM accords in japan in the mid 90's?

 

Nope, my '99 was built in Japan... From what I understand, whenever production wasn't meeting demands, the made some more at the Japan factory and shipped them over. By the '01 and '02 models, nearly all were U.S. built, but I still saw a couple Japan-built '02 Accords come through the dealership I worked at.

 

So where was your Accord made and what market was it made for?
