Saturday morning i got my 99 Civic Si in blue. I just want to say I love this car so much more than my 240sx and my Civic is allot faster too. I just wanted to say this is a really cool board to post because people get back to me so quickly.
I just have one question. How do you get the old shifter **** off because when I twist it the whole thing moves with it? I know this question may sound dumb but I really don't know how to get it off. Can anyone help me out?

 

You shoud be able to trist just the shift ****. You say that the whole thing moves, this can't be, they are not made like that. The shifter is stable in place, and the **** is screwed on.

Si's have a clip that holds the shift boot in place

pull down on the boot to unclip it THEN twist it off

do you wanna sell your 240??? im kinda in the market for one in about three months...i presume its a 1990 model? you know, that 240 has more potential to be deadly fast for about the same money you will spend on the SI to make it kinda fast...just a thought!!!

Some people on H-T give us Si owners a hard time but overall the Si is a great car.

Welcome to the club. I just got my OEM Si mid wing and Carbon fiber hood and I love my Si even more.

I want to get the new polished AEM Cold Air Intake, Comptech Header, and Apexi N1 Cat-Back Exhaust but need some money first so hopefully someone will buy my old 240sx from me.

 

Get the Comptech Icebox over the AEM.

I have the polished AEM and a friend of mine has the Comptech. Both cars are 2000 Sis. The Comptech is quieter and the extra torque you get is more noticeable than the AEMs power up high.

if you want corner lights, make sure the light up when you use the turn signal. Do YOU see them lit up at night on BWMs, Audis, VW, etc when the turn signal is NOT used. ah...i just hate it!

Wow, your 240 is in a great shape!! I always wanted one of those. I am really not fan of the color but the car is very nice!! Oh yea, I was supposed to say good thing about your Si right? haha, well congrats, you have now became one of the crazy honda heads!

REMEMBER THIS,

Its stupid to not get something you like because its played out. More then likely its not played out in your area anyway. So if white wheels float your boat, or black wheels blow your skirt, get'em.

Sooner or later everything will be played out and nothing can stop that, so keep in my mind, get what you like!!!!

pull down on the plastic chrome ring at the base of the shift ****. than you can twist the **** off.

don't worry what others say about your car - it's not jdm, it's soo last year, etc...
just build it how you like it. look for pics of the parts you want and decide if you really want them. do a post to see how people who HAVE them, like them.
