ok, here's the story.

coworker came back from running an errand. he said it, 91 accord, all the sudden started smoking from under the hood, and he popped it. smoke dissapated and he drove it back here. (obviously nothing too serious, but he was only a mile away.) anyways, he said it came from alternator AREA, not just the alt. it smells like a blown up alternator, but it's still pumping out 14.2 volts at idle. i am confused. the smell is definately burnt elect. any help?
