Default I need help! throwing 2 codes

p0505- malfunction in the idle control system
p0420- catylist below threshold

honda civic 99 dx with a b16a2 swap. I just got the 2 o2 sensors replaced, a new IACV put it. It was throwing other codes earlier cuz the sensors were fried. but these 2 codes are new codes.

now i know that the code 420 is throwing because its prob. my high flow cat i have on it.

what could be throwing the other idle control code tho?

I need to get an inspection ASAP. Is there anything i can do to bypass these codes.

There's a trick where you use 2 non-foulers to mount the seconday O2 out of the primary exhaust stream. This has reportedly let people get rid of the cat efficiency CEL even when not running a cat at all.

P0505, I'd be checking the IAC and wiring to the IAC. I'd get the shop manual and follow the trouble-shooting procedure.

I didn't think NC inspection is quite that thourough, I know VA isn't. You could also just switch to a OBD1 ecu...

In VA, if you live where they do emissions tests, your ECU has to talk OBD2 so, you can't switch to an OBD1 ECU. The non-fouler trick will let you get past emissions because, they don't even sniff the tailpipe. The ECU tells them whether it passes or not. As long as you can fool the ECU, you can pass.
