Post your weld/fab tattoos!
aww ****...my boy just got a tattoo that I gotta throw up. Just outa nowhere come over with this deal. I won't be able to post it until after Christmas though. Until then...bump for the cause.
Here's my boy Larry's new stuff. It's not a "fab" tattoo, but he is dedicating his other arm (the fairly empty one) to that purpose here shortly. This tattoo certainly qualifies posting though...lol.

Not as much as when a molten ball of steel burns through your only thin point in your 'armor' and melts into your skin. At least your body releases morphine-like endorphins to kill the pain after a few minutes.
The taat is sick, looks like a lot of time under the gun, or torch in this case.

no the worst pain iv come across was sitting down while mig welding and a piece landed onmy pants and burned threw that hurt alot worse then any tattoo
I dont have any actuall tats but I do have a large collection of burns from welding,
1 3rd degree on my right leg, manifold rocked off the table while I was welding it (darn ramhorns!) it was still glowing red landed right on my leg burned through the pants and cooked the skin now I have a place where no hair grows there and it is pink lol that took 5 months to heal up and get skin back over it
After that I usually hold my torch in my mouth by the backcap when repositioning and I coughed one time the tungsten was still red and sticking about 3/4" it stuck me in my left bicep went all the way down to the cap so I have a nice bullseye on my arm (circle from cap and red dot from the tungsten)
I dont know if those count but they are my contributions to the tread lol

Ya when i got mine done i was back to work the next day with a new bandage around mine long sleeves welders sleeves and gloves that come up to my elbow i did not wanna burn my arm. and for some reason whenever im done welding i usually take the fill rod and hold it in my mouth but end up hitting my left arm all the time with the tip

I have the EXACT same scar... Was fitting up a set of stainless long tube headers {V8 Stuff} and stuck the tungsten into my leg , just above my knee...LOL this thing would NOT quit bleeding lol. Now that its all said and done, I have this perfect bullseye scar on my leg

Lol i had the tungsten out pretty far to get in a hard to reach place...was leaning over, the mask tipped off my head so i reached down to catch it...stuck the tungsten about an inch in right above my knee, looked at it for a second and pulled it out...no blood as it cotterized (sp?) or whatever they call it...still doesn't look right months later

Those were just a couple I have had that tungsten incident 4 times total, only 2 left good scars, I have random places on my arms were the skin kinda got melted off when manifold fell over or something, biggest scar is on the leg like I was saying (it is about 3" long x 2" wide) btw it is hard as heck to clean melted skin and pants off of a manifold so you can still ship it to your customer lol

No tatt's yet...but I got a nice tial 38mm flange brand on my bicep
I was working on my old supra's turbo setup... Friend slipped while setting it on the table after he welded it, I was working on lining up the t4 flange to the collector....flew right into my leg, and i was wearing shorts since I wear a one piece over my clothes while welding.
I have never sworn so much in a half hour period as I did then. Cleaned it out, had the nurse look at it, and got back to working on the car.

I've got some scars from doing stuctural flux core welding, .045 flux cored mig is nasty! One of the worst things I can think about was getting a hot glob burning through my jeans, longjohns, boxers, than it singed my *****, yeah, not too cool.
The worst is when MIG welding and you get hot metal in your shoe. Worst time was TIG welding aluminum and I lost my place, turned the cup and melted the rod...then molten aluminum fell into my shoe and got me on both sides of the outside of my ankle. Thats the worst. I've also had the tungsten go into my leg about 1/2" and that sucked cause it felt like there was something in my leg for the next couple weeks until it healed all the way. Sorry to hijack, but I have no tats that has to do with welding.....just scars from trying to do it
