Well i been thinking, when my parents bought the 03 civic ex? on the inside of the windsheild it said 2003 Honda civic vp on a peice of paper tape on the windsheild, but it has the ex emblem and it has honda vtec spark plug cover, bought the car from a honda dealership. How do you find out if its really a EX or a VP?

 

go out and see if you can hit VEEEETAAKKKKK

or just use your vin number and look up what exact car model you have

 

check the VIN, also check if it has a rear sway bar.

No sway = VP
Sway=EX

SUnroof = EX
No Sunroof = VP

 

sunroof?? ABS brakes???

 

All the EX's come with sunroofs don't they? VP's do not

 

If it has the EX badging, and the VTEC spark plug loom cover... unless the person that had the car before knew what he was doing in a conversion, it is an EX.

But check the block stamping # on the engine, near the exhaust manifold...

D17A1 = DX, LX, VP

D17A2= EX, EX SE.

 

some lx's have a rear sway bar like mine.

 

he means stock. LX's dont come stock with rear sways

 

Curiouz uve said that twice, and its wrong!

Only 2001 Civic LX's dont have rear sway bars

2002+'s do have rear sways.
