I am just wondering if a 15x6.5 34 offset wheel fit an ek without rubbing?I have been told that with a 195 tire that it might rub and the fenders may have to be rolled? What are some of the offsets that you guys are running? Thanks in advance
ok... a 195 is going to give you 7.68" of rubber which you are going to try and put on a 6.5" rim, will it work? yes...is it a great idea? no probably not... you need more rim... and as far as the offset im pretty sure your good on the offset but you may try and rethink the tire idea... im not knocking it, just giving suggestions...good luck man

Absolutely NOT true.
Each tire manufacturer specifies what range of rim widths work for each tire model and size they sell. You can look the specs up on their websites or on the websites of tire dealers like the Tire Rack. THIS is what you need to use to see if a given tire size fits on a given width rim. You don't just try to match the width of the tread with the width of the wheel.

Most 195 treadwidth tires for 15" wheels (for our cars, that means 195/50-15 or 195/55-15) are approved for mounting on rims 5.5-7.0 inches wide. They should fit fine on a 15x6.5 rim. 15x6 works just as well.
I often hear nonsense like this, sometimes even from people who somehow get hired to work at tire stores even though they really don't know much about tires, other than how to work the cash registers...

ok so what your saying is very true... but would you put a 7" wide wheel on a tire that no matter what? you say it's a 195 which stands for 195mm across, the idea size is 1/2 either of the rim when doing a rim fitment depending on how aggressive you are going... the idea of not going with a smaller tire is to decrease the possiblity of breaking the bead's seal...
I'm just giving you the math... it is what it is... there is no manufactuer that will release a tire as a 195 if it's not a 195mm... just the bead area may be larger and more flexible on some...

Thanks for both of your answers and they will both be taken into consideration but my main concern is the offset.I really would like to know what to expect from a set of wheels running that offset on a 00 si coupe? Thanks

Nonsense. The sizes that work on a CRX or del sol have NOTHING to do with the proper sizes for a '96-00 Civic. (I'm not saying that 34 offset will work or won't work on your '96-00 Civic, only saying that what works on a CRX or del sol is not relevant.)

NO!!! That is NOT the best size for your Civic, if it's a '97-00. The best 15" sizes for all '97-00 Civics, and for the '96 if it's not a DX or hatchback, are 195/55-15 or 205/50-15. Don't use 195/50-15, which is too small. (195/50 is best only for pre-'96 Civics and for '96 DX and hatchback models, also CRXs and del sols.)

I've never had any issues with 195/50/15 on my 99' Hatch.

the rota c8 16x7 is 38offset another 4mm wont hurt you.
i remember having good amount of room left. running a 205 45 16
its the front that might rub if you are pretty low but its not a big deal just stick a bat under there and roll it alittle. you can even do it with your hand if you wanted the front fenders are very easy to bend.
you dont have any issues running a 195 50 15 but the fact of the matter is its one size too small.

It's about 3.3 percent smaller in diameter than your stock size and will throw off your speedometer and odometer by that percentage.
Stick with 195/55-15 (stock diameter) or 205/50-15 (1.6 percent smaller).

Ok with the sizes and offset out of the way do you guys have any suggestions for some really sticky tires?I drive around pretty normal in town and when I go to the track i use a set of slicks. The car will not see much winter sriving if at all and very minimal wet conditions?

The only downside is that they wear rapidly (typically only get 10-12K miles to a set).
You can get them at Vulcan or at Discount Tire. The 205/50-15 will be perfect on your '00 Si.

Got a set on my Work Equip 01s.
Those wheels only see two or three months a year of use, so the RT-615s are good for that much use a year.
