Default Exhaust systems in general?? is it all 3 piece for full exhaust system??

Question!!! I just bought a apexi ws2 full exhaust catback for my car off of ebay. When i got it, It only came with 2 pieces, the muffler and the pipe to the muffler. It seems like i'm missing another pipe from the catalytic converter up. It's for 1997 civic cx HB and it seems like all the catalytic converters are 3 hole flanges. the second pipe from the muffler is only 2 hole flange. ahhh, what do u guys think? It's 32 inches apart from the header.

Its a catback system. there shouldn't be any thing from the engine to the cat. that all remains stock. from the catback will be aftermarket.

It is a CAT-BACK system...

It will only come with the pieces to replace the exhaust AFTER the cat, hence the name, CAT-BACK.

just buy a high flow cat or get a cat from the junkyard and weld it to the middle pipe

i have that exhuast and it came with three pieces, mine was for a 97 hatch also. What motor do you have in your car because i believe you should have a d16y7 (most often) if your motor isnt swapped which means your cat is on your header. but dont feel bad because the piece you are missing sucks ***** anyways. Mine hit the shift linkage, so it needed to be modified.

i know everyone is saying that that peice isn't important, but then all i have is the 2 pt. flange, and i can't find any hi flow cat that is 2 hole flanges. I swear i knew it was missing a peice because i know even with the high flow cat, it's only 15 inches, i'm still short another 12 inches... Should i use both a high flow cat and a test pipe? i know that sounds ghetto rigged..

Do you have any pics?

And the amount you say to be missing, parts and labor and a muffler shop should be around $60 or less out the door.

Damn, that sucks. I have an apexi also. There are three pieces.
1. The straight section that has the resonator that connects to the cat.
2. The mid piece that looks kind of like a z, but straight
3. Finally the axle back that is connected to the muffler.

Hopefully you got the section with the bends b/c that is mandrel bent piping. I will agree with the others, the section with the resonator sucks, it rubs w/ the pavement.

if your missing the bent piece dont go to a muffler shop odds are they dont have a mandrel pipe bender. give us a link to the auction so maybe wecan see if its suppose tocome with 3 pieces and or call the people you bought it from.
