Am I Stupid? Or Is My Stuff Just Junk?
Im on my third car now and possibly contemplating putting another stereo in it. Its a 90 Honda civic hatch, its my daily driver for the winter and its boring (even thought its got a b16a) and I want to put a system in it
Well I already have everything, Ive got
2- Audiobahn AW1206T subs, 2000watts or so
2- Clarion DPX 1000.2 2 chanel amps
Rockford fosgate 5 channel 650.something that I just got fomr a friend
Now Ive installed the subs into my crx, but pulled them out because they just didnt work and were just cutting out and I wanted to go fast anyways
Tis summer I tried the 2 subs with an amp on each and it didnt pound for ****, just sucked and was loud enough, Ive heard single 10 systems that sounded better. But it was also turning off my truck with the power load it was taking, so I pulled it out
Now I want a system in the civic. I LOVE bass, but its my daily and I dont wanna spend a lot of cash
Should these subs (even only one with one amp) POUND, like be good enough to fill in the music and THEN some. Sure there 3 years old, but theyve got like no use in them
Should I buy a new sub or something?
Need advice

audiobahns aren't that great, but if you love bass and not sq then you could make them work. get someone who knows what he's doing to install them for you.
Those are the "Natural Sound" Series right? I had a set of those. IMO, compared to the others series of Audiobahn they just down right suck! AW1200Q - if you can still find them - will fit in the same holes and are about the same price, but the difference is unbelievable! The "Q" is the High Excursion series, go with them. The "T"s just aren't a good "bumping" woofer.
but they should still make some bass, be able to atleast rattle some interior
Why arent they? What could be causing such a fuss in my setup?

Go here: http://www.cardomain.com/shop/... ohms - select "2 woofers"
Make sure you got them wired correctly. I dunno, I can't remember how bad they were, I just know they bit the big one compared to the Q's I had before.

The Clarion Amp has just about enough power to drive one of them, 1x1000W RMS, when bridged, [but that number is probably fudged a little] but it would make sub bass.
There is no way the R/F 5 ch. has enough power to properly drive even one of the AW1206Ts, so you could use it to drive the high-pass speakers. and just forget the 5th channel.

I dont care about the rockford amp, dont wanna use it

These subs havent really "pounded"

As I said if you use the Clarion amp, it has almost enough power to drive one of the subs, to drive both subs, to their full potential you would need a 2200W RMS into 4 ohms or 1 ohm amp.

those subs are more than decent enough for what you want. like the guy above me said, wire one of them up to the clarion in a 2 ohm bridged mode and you should be good
I have 2 12'' Audiobahn 1200 Q's with a 1,200 watt pyramid amp, (amp sucks *** but works) One side of the amp burned up so I took the positive from each speaker and put it to one positive of the amp and took both negatives from each speaker and put it to the negative of the amp and I am DAMN happy, hell if you play a ***** song with piano it has bass in it. Can't complain and I will forever buy Audiobahn. Tried and true for me.
