I have a 1991 LS 2dr b18a1...My car idles at the normal rpm but when I turn the head lights on it raises, if I turn my running lights on it raises, if I turn on all my eletronics on it goes quite high up to 1900 sometimes. Could this be a result of what? Stock lights etc..

 

It could be a result of bad grounds, an alternator that is about shot, your idle adjustment screw being out of wack, the throttle stop screw being out of wack, the TPS sensor being out of wack, the IACV being out of wack.

 

It should idle up a bit to compenstate for the added load, but not past about 900rpms.

 

I agree with the GROUND or a faulty alternator..Check all the connections under the hood.

 

Ill check my stereo a mp grounds I think the guys at the collision center may have played with some of them
