Default Best Buy car alarm install...

I got a price quote of about $200-$300 for my Clifford Alarm + 3 sensors installation plus removing my old aftermarket alarm total balance. And they are going to charge me a bit for a "customized installation".. which means putting the alarm brain and other sensors in different places besides the dash board. Averages to about 3-4 hours. Does that sound about right? How well does the installation team work? Recommended?

I already spent nearly 3 weeks calling and getting price quotes around the area (3-50 miles away at least), and they're either charging me $400+ for customized or $230 for everything under the dashboard ONLY (I tried convincing the guy I'll pay more if he does customize, but he turned it down).

Bottom line: starter kill/alarm power is done at the ignition harness. Since the starter kill is going to be normally closed, you simply cut power or ground to the alarm and you are free to hotwire the car. Since they already cut open your ignition loom and segregated out the critical wires to do the alarm, your car is easier to hotwire.

Don't pay extra for that. Just get a standard install.

It doesn't matter where the sensors are.

I'm going to add the battery backup as well... I'll add the kill switch later. And my car already has a starter kill in my stock alarm (car ignitio wont even crank if alarm is on).

Are you recommending me to just stash the whole clifford alarm under the dash?
