when im going in first its normal then when i change to 2nd its goes but then the RPM revs very high when slightly stepping on gas..this only happen sometimes...is it time for a new clutch?

Yep, sounds like slipping to me.
If you clutch was very hot from driving all day, it might slip more than it would if it was cold.

 

One more time yep time for a new clutch

 

I've done this little test...

Pull your ebrake as high as it can go.
Depress clutch and shift into 3rd.
Release clutch w/o gassing it and the engine should cut out.

If it still trys to run, then you're in need of a new clutch.

 

easy test:

pop it in 6th(oh i mean 5th) while you going 20mph and floor it, see if it will grip or slip.


the best test involves driving up a hill, but since the folks in the mid west doesn't have that so us the highest gear method
