Default H23 vs f22b1

Hello all,
I'm obviously new here. I am considering doing an engine swap on my 92 Accd. here pretty soon and have been considering doing an H23 swap and fairly soon after adding a simple turbo set up. I wanted to do something a little different than
an H22 and the H23's are fairly cheap to get ahold of. My question is this, I know the f22b1 has Vtec on the Intake valves but of coarse is rated at a little less horsepower from the factory than the H23. I have not found any cylinder head flow data comparo's between the two heads. From a forced induction perspective, would there be an advantage between the two. I didn't know if the Vtec on the Intake would provide any advantage over the non-vtec H23 but I also dont know if the ports on the H23 are superior to the f22b1's in general. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!

Default Re: H23 vs f22b1 (lsxgto)

the f22b1 and 2 have iron sleeves so they're good for turbo while h23 and h22 dont. the h23 head flows better than f22b1 and 2. this is why im going with f22b block and h23 head. best of both sides and dohc.i haven't seen many h23 turbo numbers, but i have seen stock f22b's boosting like 250-300 on stock internals, so basically i've heard that best bang for your buck would be f22b because you need to resleve the h23 block.
