just towed a heavier car
i just towed my friend's heavy *** 240 for about 15 miles w/ my teg. my car pretty much struggled the whole way through. should i be worried about my tranny and/or motor?
Ha ha ha lol...... are you serious? Well, that's preety much the funiest thing I've heard all day. Did you get alot of clutch slippage? That's about the only thing I can think of that would be affected.
yea man i was his last resort. i didnt get slippage at all but my tires spun a lot on uphills haha.

That doesn't matter, there's still fluid in there. Your probably thinking of the clutch fluid in the resevior. We're talking about jacking up the car, getting underneath it and draining the tranny fluid.

I really doubt that would help all that much. You never want to load a trailer without some tongue weight for stability. This is weight the rear of the towing vehicle has to carry. A FWD car with its back tires pushed down will have much less than normal acceleration traction.
Honestly, the biggest concerns I'd have with towing that much weight are structural integrity of the hitch mount (damagine the car's frame) and braking. There's a reason trucks come with such large brakes, and its not just because of their weight.
