Default Si grill vs Lower trim level grills

I bought the Si sedan and removed the Civic, and Si badges. I also removed the i-VTEC decals. I want a clean look, while making the car appear as an EX. I just want to avoid drivers challenging me and revving their cars engines at me.

Without these items it wouldnt appear as a lower trim civic to the untrained eye, at least from the outside.

I realize that the wing, wheels, paint color, and body color matched grill give it away, but like I said, not to those who don't know.

I was wondering if the lower part of the Si's grill would be interchangable with the one from the DX, LX, or EX grill.

The Si mounting tab is just bugging the ish out of me.

just get the entire EX grill. unlike your SI, the EX grill is one piece, and of course it's all gray.

the only thing I can add is that if you switch to the non-si sedan grill, it's going to be chrome... unless you paint it yourself

So you guys are saying that the other trim level grills don't seperate like the Si grill does.

Tre, can you look in your computer for diagrams to confirm this?

It would be nice if someone made a grill insert for this generation civic, simlar to the 99-00 Si.

any pics of the other trim's grill all by itself?

I found this diagram and the illustrations aren't too clear, even for the si, but they are drawn different. I suppose I'll deal with it until the after market comes thru. I'm not really interested in replacing it with the chrome one.

Lynx-

the only chrome on the EX grill is the "H", the rest is all gray.

Ok, I see. I was under the impression that all grill inserts aside from Si had chrome on the upper portion.

I think I'd have to order one and get it painted.
