NEED HELP... ENGINE TROUBLE.
last week my engine spun a bearing, it was a d16a6 in my 88 crx si. i got a d15b2 block for free from some guy. this is my daily driver so i figured i'd drop in the d15 for now until something better comes along. so i dropped it in using my d16a6 head. at first it didn't run very well but i fixed that problem. it was the timing, for some reason it was off even though i followed the diagram in my haynes manual. maybe since i'm using a 1.5 block with a 1.6 head. anyways i redid the timing belt but i slid it one tooth over and now it fires right up and it revs a lot better than it did at first. my problem is that it smokes like a motha!!! i don't think its the piston rings though. or the valve seals because this head didn't smoke when it was still on the d16 block. i noticed that after i shut the engine off i can hear what sounds to me like a compression leak coming from the front of the motor near the intake on the #1 cylinder. i remember that before i put on the head i noticed that the block was mising the oil control jet so i used the one off of the d16 block. could my head be warped or cracked? any input will be greatly appreciated. i think i might be getting another engine soon because i found a del sol si crashed in thejunkyard with a d16z6 in it. its automatic though so no luck on the tranny. it needs a throttle body, distributor and vtec solenoid. i know a lot of guys will say to swap a b series but i want to stay d series i eventually want to go turbo.
