AEM V2... why's it so much?
I unno... I've kinda wanted one but I dont wanna pay 300 sum dollars for one... why's it so great... it looks big then right at the manifold it gets small.. I heard it makes the air do a tornado effect threw it so it flows better into the engin... rather than straight in... kinda like water and a drain... it flows better out of a tub when it spins if you stop the tornado the water doesnt go ne where... Does ne one know if it really does this or if you gain ne horse out of this 300 dollar piece of equipment? cause I know regular ones jus kinda st there n look nice... dont give you much more than 3 hp err so...
you realize that the air still has to go into the manifold and TB....so regardless of how much tornado power it has, it still has stuff to go through that hinder the path. dont spend your money on it....get a cheap intake and replace the filter element with a K&N or something quality...a metal tube is a metal tube.

thats what i did
The reason why the V2 is so expensive is that the little pipe you see going into the throttle body is the intake pipe...the big pipe just goes around it to act as a heat shield.
this keeps the intake temp cooler for a little longer but will heat up anyway so its pretty worthless.

man might if thats what V2 technology is, might as well get a bigger tube that goes around the intake tube, and put in a small cooling system in between the 2 tube. It'll be better than V2...
I agree with ebay intake and K&N filter. Like if I have to get a smog test, i'll change it back... It's easy.

I'd use PVC plastic pipe and pack it with some sort of insulation, huch better than metal...it would look pretty ghetto though

it's because it has V2 technology. it converts the air into v2 intake air and makes miniature tornadoes inside of your intake tube. they float around in circles and go down past your throttle plate and valves and into your cylinders. inside of your cylinders the tornadoes blow up and create AEM v2 POWER!
thought so... jus curious... I didnt really plan on spending 300 bucks on an intake ne way.. I Jus kinda wanted the name... but thanx guys
its expensive because (in no particular order)
1)CARB approved
2)its brand name
3)its good quality and guranteed to fit
4)alot fo R&D time went into it
i remember reading a article somewhere about the V2 when it first came out. the dual tube thing is suppose to do something with air/sound frequency or someshit to give you better gains.
but i agree with eveyone else, ebay intake+good filter is the best value out there. but be careful, ebay is hit or miss, sometimes the intake will fit no problem and others it'll fit like ****. in my case, it fitted like ****, so bad that i woulda rather payed another 150 bucks for a brand name just for the guranteed perfect fit.
