Too Hot? Apex'i Turbo 3psi... Revs at 2-3k after run

Apex'i Turbo 3psi... Revs at 2-3k after run. Too Hot
Whenever I run, just after, my car will idle at 2-3000 rpms.
This turbo was just installed 2 days ago and never really got on it till now.
When I did run, I ran for about 10 seconds from a rolling start and then chilled out.
About 2 minutes later I ran hard again for about 10 seconds and then chilled out.
It started reving high at this time. Upon opening the hood it is probably twice as hot as it would normally be.
The temperature gauge doesn't show to have been overheating it is at normal temperature. Any ideas?
I have a BBK upgraded fuel pump, Hayame catback exhaust, no intercooler, and Apex'i turbo timer.
