anybody know of good machine shops around the portland area? i need to get my block bored and assembled. oh and how much does this service usually cost? thanks!!

 

Tabor's automotive machines in Vancouver does good work. Pretty good pricing also. They worked on my motor and a couple of my friend's motors.

as for pricing They charged me $18 per cylinder to bore out. and 200 to re-assemble the whole short block. I just pulled these prices off my list. I had a shitload of work done.

 

I've got a better one. My machinest Frank in Beaverton can do a complete hot tank,bore,deck,assemble and set the bearing clearances to your specifications. He's done all of the race motors for ground zero, race dezign, unnatural, and even some for tourqe freaks. He also does alot of head work and can do just about anything. I'm not going to give out prices or contact numbers over the web because he would be flooded and the performance shops would be pissed but PM me if your intersted and I can maybe get a quote for your specification

i live in hillsboro....about 20 miles from portland. i am looking for somewhere around my area...i.e...portland/vancouver and surrounding areas.
