Default changing oil pan gasket, how long before i can drive the car?

i'm about to change my oil pan gasket. on the hondabond package it says that it takes about 1 hour at 77 degrees for the surface layer of the hondabond to dry, and about 3 days for perfect sealing. since its only about 35 degrees right now, i'm assuming both of these times increase. anyway, do i have to wait for the sealant to fully dry, or can i drive the car after a couple hours?

dont use hondabod. the gasket will seal without any bonding. if you already did it i would leave it and hope it doesnt leak. if it does youve got to drop the pan and scrape it off and get a new gasket. good luck

If your not using a sealer, you can drive immediately. If you are using a sealer, read the directions for the particular sealer. Our tegs don't really need sealer, the thick rubber gasket and reinforced pan lip seals just fine.

the factory service manual says to use the hondabond on the sides of the pan; the 2 sides facing the wheels. i used a really thin layer between the gasket and the pan. well, i just got done changing it. i'll let it sit till tomorrow. the instructions for the hondabond don't say anything about when you can start driving, but the service manual did say to let it sit for 30 minutes before putting oil in.

forgot to look at pg 7-24. i guess 24 hours should be good enough. but the heat of daily driving will help it dry too. should be good.
