brake change on 2004 Accord
Hey guys, my friend has a 2004 Accord and she needs to change her brakes since they're squeaking.
I remember one of my friends did a brake job on his friend's 1996 Accord and he said it was a pain in the *** because he had to take off the axle nut or something like that to get off the rotor. Are the 2004s the same?
I think he didn't have the proper tools to remove it, that's why. Anyway, can someone tell me what is involved in this job? I've done brakes on all my cars and they were really easy. Thanks in advance

The '96 Accord had a hub-over-rotor design, where a hydraulic press was needed to remove the rotor. Starting with the '98 models, the Accords went back to the easy-as-pie rotor-over-hub.
Changing the pads on your friend's '04 will be one of the easiest brake jobs you've ever done. If you're going to be removing the rotor, you'll probably need an impact screwdriver to pull off the two Philips head screws. The screws were there really just to hold the rotors on while the car was being assembled at the factory.
