Default 01, Accord LX - transmission ...

Hey everyone,
It's been a while when I wrote a post last time.
Believe it or not I bought my car 2 months ago, I drove it for a month.
I picked it up from transmision shop yesterday - it has been there for a month.

Shifting good now, but, once I take foot of the gas pedal I hear metalic noise, like rubbing metal to metal coming from under the hood (passanger side). I got pissed. I paid 900$ for transmission rebuilt. I went back and guy told me, give it 2 weeks, everything will be fine!

Will it be fine? Some of you have done rebuilts before, what do you think about it, please let me know.
To specify how I use it when the sound can be heard.
I drive 30 mph and just take foot of the gas pedal - you can hear it.
When I floor the gas pedal it's ok
When I break it's ok

Fluid in tranny is fresh and still red. Is mechanic playing with me or I just really need to give it some time?
Thanks!

Lucas

That's what I thought.
Should I try to get a different car or money back? What can be consequences driving like that?

To any of you who are interested in price and parts that has been replaced there you go: (I might spell it wrong cause I can bearly read this of the paper - I got copy of it).

- Overshaft Kit (f.w.d trans baxa?)
- Convert
- Fwd. set.stul??
- Filter
- needle bearings
- ot trans, fluid honda

parts 500$ - labor 400$ = total 900$

The following repairs were made within to your vehicle:
Removed transmision baxa, fwd replaced, clutches - seals - pistons, con vest, fw steel (reco) ellter, recondition valve bory????

I got 6k miles warranty or 6 months - whatever comes first.

Im sorry guys, I could barelly read this, and I have no idea what I red, so, please let me know what was the deal on that?

The following repairs were made within/to your vehicle:
Removed transmision (model baxa), replaced, forward clutches (steels) - seals (o rings) - pistons (most likely forward clutch), torque converter, reconditioned valve body

and WTF is up with 6K or 6 months? shortest I have seen is 12K 12 mo and that really isn't much if you think about it.

You know that there's a recall on 01 Accord right? About the Tranny extension. Call your dealer and ask them. BTW was your D4 light blinking?

If you paid with a credit card, you have more protections than you think. Suggest to him you might get your credit card company involved. That usually changes ppl's tunes real quick.

Was recall for cars with over 100.000 miles?
My d4 light wasn't blinking. My tranny was shifting rough out of first gear (feeling was like car wanted to move back and then forward again).

Now it's ok - but this damn sound ...

Honda inspection is 85$ - I didn't do it yet, cause friends told me that all they do is visual inspection and computer test. I assume they will have no idea what's wrong inside my tranny so that would be waste of money.

There is a lawsuit going on that will extend the warranty to another 9k miles so it should be 109,000 now. Although even before this some people called Honda of America after they warranty expired and they were nice enough to give them a free transmission and they would only have to pay for the labor of installing it at the dealership.

I dont know whats going to happen in your case now since you allready had a shop try to fix it. Try to get some money out of that guy that worked on it and use that money to put in the new transmission in from Honda, if they give you one, and then sell the car.

Best of luck.

So Im basicly f...d

I bought car 2 months ago, still have 6k$ to pay off my loan, I have rebuilt transmision which propably wil not be replaced by honda + I have no savings to do anything to have this car replaced. On top of that I need to change timing belt, spark plugs, filters, get set of new tires and battery.

Btw - what tools will I need to replace spark plugs in my Honda? I don't want to pay anything else for freakin Miami, FL mechanic labors (they are killing me).

What would you guys do in this situation?
Maybe kill tranny for good and return the car on warranty to mechanic? ;-)
I would really appreciate any suggestions - thanks!
