Default Fixing a Radiator?

So I was driving and I noticed smoke/steam coming from the hood. And there was a little hole in it, like 3 little holes with antifreze coming out. Im very mad about this, and it will cost $500 for a new part.... Does anyone know what to do, or if I can fix this or will i just have to get a new one.? thanks.

When radiators were brass, you could solder them. But even then, the corrosion was ready to eat thru 50 other places as soon as you fixed it. I'll say trying to patch it is temporary at best.

OTOH, you should be able to find a radiator for way less than $500...

I got my radiator at Autozone not to long ago for $100. Very easy to put in too. Take off the two top mounting brackets and disconnect all hoses (2 for 5 speed, 4 for auto) and disconnect the fans and pull up and out.

if there is a small hole in the metal part of the radiator, as a very temporary fix, you could crack an egg into the radiator (while the car is running w/ the radiator cap off). other than that, like the above poster said, you can get one at any auto parts store for WELL under $150 for that model accord.

i patched a radiator with radiator putty (epoxy) and it was supposed to be a temp fix on my friends car but it hasnt leaked again in over a year so we just left it alone.

i also replaced a radiator on my gf's civic late one night and the only thing open was the 24 hr Autozone. got one there for like a 100 bucks and works fine.

i think the question you need to ask next is why was it leaking. old age or something else. if the car is running too hot, you can bust the seams....did this in my old 240 with the stock metal/plastic radiator. not enough cooling and it ran a little too hot and the expansion split the seam and i just got a full metal replacement.
