Default Vacuum Scavenger Oil Cap by Vibrant!

Not sure if you have seen this, so I figured I would share it with the Drag Racing forum? Neat little product for someone who does not want to drill, tap or weld their valve cover for an extra port. I believe the production versions will fit a -6 fitting.

There has been quite a buzz about this product and the boost brace at both SEMA and PRI.

Combine it with the new adjustable length Catch Can and your in business! (Middle is Intake tube )

I'm looking forward to adding both to my setup...

I don't have all the answers, but I've asked someone who does to come and post in this thread.

I don't know how the Z10 one hooks up, but it looks like it would require alot more work to remove the oil cap, whereas the Vibrant one simply twists on and off.

i already ordered a couple of these for stock in the 2 colors (polished and black)

when i sent the purchase order in about a month ago they estimated to have them ready to ship sometime in January but don't have an exact date yet

you will see them for sale on the market for between $70-85 most likely

to vibrant - definately introducing some nice products into the market

Unfortunately, a -6 line is too small to be very effective at all.

Tony! Lets be serious... This has a different purpose to your vac setup on your drag car. I've added an extra 5/16th line on a valve cover before on forced induction engine and seen a positive outcome.

Granted that a -12 would be better on a 900hp Drag Car, but this has been designed with clearance in mind, and I believe this will fit on a B series in a CRX without hitting the hood. The stock fitting, plus this extra one would be perfect with many All-Motor and Forced Induction Setups.

I had the Z10 one for a for a few weeks and it filled my catch can up ever pass. I was tired of it leaking out so I put a reg oil cap on and it never filled up again. I had one from the back of the block and one from the oil cap.. IMO its in a bad spot because the cams and oil drain splashs oil into the can.

They are with a -8 fitting and retail is $60. I did not take a good look at them when I was at the show. Just going off the catalog. From what I glanced at it looked ok.

What were the results of adding an extra 5/16th line on the valve cover?

Less Crankcase pressure than before! I did this on the Miata, and everything was monitored using the 341B ECU with one of its many inputs. I also did the same with my old crapper eagle Talon, and reduced the amount of pressure in the crankcase causing Turbo Oil Drain issues. (I used it as more of a band-aid in that case) A little hole can still make a difference Tony.

I know how much difference a small hole makes. You logged it, right? What was the crankcase pressure before and after?

It's cool, i just figured that if you made a post saying that you've seen results, you'd be able to remember what they were. Maybe you didn't see results? Oh well, doesn't matter.

These are a cool idea...
