Default H22 Swap with LSD Trans....need taller 5th gear !!!!! Please help :)

Hello all, I'm a newbie to this forum, but I can easily see the wealth of knowledgeable people here so I thought I'd ask you guys/gals. I'm gonna post this in the Prelude section too. I have a question which I'm sure has been asked before but my search efforts have returned nothing but fleeting excerpts.

Heres the deal.... I have a 96' Accord with 94' JDM (RedTop) Prelude running gear. I have the LSD trans...M2B4 I believe.

My problem is that I HATE the short gearing on the highway. 1st-4th are awesome for sprinting. HOWEVER when I get on the Hwy....which I do enough to worry about....I want the H22 to relax a little. No need to be at 4 Grand when doing 80. 3 Grand is like 62-65is........still........at 3 grand I should be doing 70. SO.........I know some of you have done what I have in mind so...please give me some tips if you can.

I have two original 5sp F22 transmissions as a donors. I'd like to take the two gears that make up 5th gear in the F trans and transfer them to the H trans. What do I need to know? What or how do I do this? I have 20yrs experience working on cars and engines but not transmissions.....I'm not scared.....I just want to gather all the info I can before I tear down my H22 trans....which runs and shifts absolutely to perfection. I have actually read posts from some of you who have done this 5th gear swap. Should I just swap the 5th gear or the final drive AND the 5th gear? PLEASE HELP.....I want a taller 5th gear while keeping my quick shifting 1st-4th.

RSX 6sp manual anyone? Perhaps that is the answer?

Thank you all in advance.....feel free to email me too. Take care.

Indeed, however lets try to refrain from stating the obvious. I need some serious info on tearing two transmissions apart and swapping the 5th gears from the F22 trans into the H (M2B4). I believe the F22 5th gears need to be shaved down (thinned laterally). At any rate this will be getting done one way or another......I suppose I'll just have to mic both gear sets and make the F gears into what I need. Then again I dont know whether to use the final drive from the F trans too. Thanks for trying tho... Take care

Then again RSX 6sp manual anyone?
