im gonna get flamed, but bring it on, recently i have been buildin an LS vtec setup, nothin crazy like some people but i am shootin for 12's in a 94 integra that is going to keep its AC PS abs and interior, and well i just wanted to see if i would get flamed for being an idiot tryin to make enough power with a 1.8 L setup or if people actually think it will happen, and yes i am gonna use slicks, im gonna port out the head, gonna use stock crank with forged rods and pistons, up the injectors to 310cc, cams valve train, headers, pretty muhc some good bolt ons and some good internals for a 1.8 L setup, but im probably only gonna run 12.5-12.8 compression
12.5-12.8:1 is extremely high for a street car. I would NOT go any higher than 12:1 especially on pump gas. If 91 is all you got, then any higher your will have to sacrifice Timing and lose power. 12's can be done sure, but its going to be borderline streetable.
on a teg and its weight, its gona be real hard to acomplish,go 2.0L and get it tuned.its not easy but it aint imposible.i just havent seen a teg doing 12s on that setup and with that trim.

well i have a pretty deep pocket, just gotta wait a bit, but from what ive heard all the tuners and shops around here i kinda shitty, except for Humble in tulsa (im in oklahoma city), and i want to try and accomplish this with a 1.8L, if i only hit low 13's i can always throw my setup in a gutted out rex and be fast, well i gotta go to work, but yea ill be back to tell you guys my setup

True.
My setup is an semi-OEM build with Skunk2 Pro2+'s.
I make 195whp, 131wtq, and weigh in at 2560lbs. with driver at the track.
My best E.T. to date is 13.17 @ 104.9mph.
Keep in mind, I don't have things like AC, PS, bumper supports.
Hitting 12's in a 'comfy', nearly-full-weight Integra is going to be tough.
Good luck.

thx, well i guess ill list wut i have so far in mind
i already have these things
1997 gsr head
buddy club valve springs and retainers P1
LS shortblock, soon to be sold to get just maybe a bare block, but im not to sure
i dont kno wut pistons i want to run yet, i was thinking maybe some RS machined ctr pistons
itr oil and water pump, and i think i have b16 timing belt, dont kno why
golden eagle LS vtec kit with golden eagle head studs
for my future purchases
dont kno wut kind of cam, but there is a shop called humble that i think i might have them custom grind me some cams
stainless steel vavles (dont kno which company)
a header for about 600-1000 $ (depends on what i can find)
port matched intake manifold, maybe even a stock gsr mani
need a vavle cover and good workin vtec solenoid
310cc injectors
fpr, aftermarket fuel pump,
now i want to get an aftermarket radiator, but are there aftermarket radiators that are compatible with AC?

so would some slicks, itr tranny (lsd) and a 230whp 160tq setup hit 12's, well that is kinda just askin to be flamed, well when i actually start work on this setup ill put it up on here, to be the only 1.8L full interior, AC, PS, ABS coupe breakin 12's, hopefully DD

i think 230whp 160tq would do it...but are you going to get that kind of power out of a 1.8???...it's all about the products you put together, and a good tuner...as for cams, i suggest jun3's, even though i have not ran those cams personally...every time i see a dyno on them, it makes power.

I dont know what darkane is talking about but you can run as high as 14 in the compression range with some 93 in da tank. Any radiator is compatible with A/C i suggest you keep the oem with your setup. With lsd and slicks and a full weight integra it is going to take muinimum 230hp and a good driver to break 12's.

Is this on slicks? And what compression?
IM hitting 13.8 on an all stock internal USDM GSR with 4.7fd lsd ITR tranny and drag radials. I havent wieghed my hatch yet but i assume its lighter than yours. I was really hoping to go 13.5 on stock internals before i go 2.0.

you would run 14:1 on 93 octane?
you would run 14:1 on 93 octane?
Thats not gonna happen with that much weight and a 1.8, unless your compression is ridicuously high (and then, you'll defanatley need something over 93 octane).
Go get that block re-sleeved to about 84mm, with some 13.5:1 comp. pistons on race gas and you may hit something close to a low 13.

230/160 is more like 245/170 w/out ac, ps, etc. Just remove those belts on race day.
230/160 will do it though, and probably on BFG's. I don't see it being too difficult to hit 12's with an ITR tranny on slicks. 2.0 is a must though.
I'm voting for 12.5:1 wiseco or CP pistons on (whatever rods you can afford, spend the money on carillo's if you've got it), s2s2 sized primaries or larger (cams), and an 84+mm block.
Just keep in mind though, there's a fine line between a track only car, a weekend *****, and a full DD.
If this car needs to be fully DD w/ reliability in mind, I wouldn't go higher than 12.5, and i'd opt for some cast pistons (rs machines) instead. I also wouldn't go larger than an 84mm bore.
If you don't plan on driving it much, than you can go to an 85mm bore, w/ forged pistons.
And, if it's going to be a track only car, you can get away with 86mm w/ higher compression.

Running 12's in a DC chassis can be achieved pretty easily with the right gearing, slicks, and 200whp...
My car was about 2500-2550lbs with driver and was able to do it with a OEM 1.8L build.. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=672332

Yes, 22x8x13 M&H's on 13" Lenso's.
Compression is around 11.7:1.
But yes, my coupe weighs a good bit more than any hatch.

now i forgot where the thread was, but i remember seeing a type r hit 230hp with somthin called an alanized head or alaniz, i cant rember, and it was gutted and had slicks, all on a stock type r bottom end, with bolt ons and a really good head, it hit low 12's, but its worthless info if i cant find the thread
deerblood yeah you can do it with the right ingrediants. You can run 14 c/r on 93. If you tune ur ignition maps around the 93, but if you tune with some c16 in the tank your gonna have some probs when you fill it up with 93. You wont see your best power numbers tuning w/ 93 but with a pocket romulator you can re-burn ur eprom for 2 different setups i.e. gas.
AllmotorB- those are some damn good times for your setup the 60ft is sweet! Nice driving!

yeah that is a yellow ITR from here in Cali but it is lightweight.
But the OP up there wants to do it with PS/AC and full weight and still keep it 1.8L all while on PUMP gas. That is tough. But he should try it
