Default heat sheild over header?

ok apparently the previous owner of my car hit a bucket of tar spilling it all over the header and drying it. well the header had a heat sheild but now its ugly as h**l! so i decided to take it off.... this wont disturb anything? i dont plan on hitting any buckets of tar ... knock on wood. haha

if i were you i would put it back, you are rising the under hood temperture for no better reason than looking good.

if you really want to get rid of the tar, get a torch and elbow grease

heatshields pretty much work for an oem header. most aftermarket headers make it diffcult to install one. you could use exhaust wrap to take the place of the heatshield. its better than nothing. if you don't have any serious upgrades the little rise in temperture more than likely won't rob much anyways.

also you can just buy a brandnew replacement sheild. just scroll down a little bit and its on your right side (facing the monitor) of course if you have a 5th genration accord.
