Got Pulled Over. Heh!
I swear. My Si has it's own gravitational pull of police around it. Not even modded. Just intake DCRH and a drop. Factory wheels and all and it's BLACK. Bad luck I guess. So I get pulled over at 5:15am (cause naturally the police have nothing better to do at that time than look for a cheap bust) for not having a front license plate. Here's the crazy part.....he waited for me to get out of the drive thru getting my wife some breakfast to her work before pulling me over. He made a U turn but couldn't get to me in time so he just waited for me to pull out. Sneaky little devil. So anyway...Great. Another ticket right? WRONG. Told him I was ordering new license plate (not true) and he let me go with a warning and he was cool. Probably the coolest policeman I met in a while. Took time to compliment me on my car, ask me about the performance, and thank me for my military service. Maybe this has happened to some of yall to, but it made me feel like this car wasn't "just another civic". People down here really like the new Si. I had alot of compliments, but not from police. Pretty cool day.
i did the same thing.... cop gave me a ticket for to dark of tint and no front license plate.... it was bs.... P.S. does anyone know how much the fine is going to be???
I have an ex but everyone that has been inside the car or seen it for that matter, really likes it. Someone said it around here but these definitely have more class than previous civics. Each of the three cops that I have been pulled over by have failed to complement my car
I think they're just jealous
Probably why they pulled me over
(This is sarcasim for any of the cops on this forum. Don't be offended. I deserved to be pulled over.) I do get comps from other people all the time though.

Hah. Yeah i'm pretty sure he let me go because of my military background to. Plus it's a bogus waste of time ticket. They got bigger fish to fry down here anyway. Never heard an officer say "Well you have a really nice car so Im gonna let you go with a warning!!??
Just doesn't happen.

If you don't have plates yet you're supposed to get temporary tags with exp. dates on them on front and back of the car from the dealer. If the tag expires and your plates still haven't come in then go back to the dealer and ask for a new temporary plate.

Don't know. They vary from city to city and state to state. Major cities (San Antonio, Chicago, New York, Dallas) usually have bigger fines. Smaller towns have smaller fines. Usually. I caught a break with a warning. The fine would have been around $105 just for that violation. I had my plate back on 20 minutes later.

I got pulled over as well...twice, however I was not as fortunate...1st time I was stopped for speeding, 87 in a 65 on I90 coming home from Verona, NY. He also got me for not having my front plate on and my 15% tint all around.
2nd time my girl and I were on our way to Mohegan Sun. A CT trooper didn't like the way I merged with traffic coming from an on ramp. Probably cuz I rocketed out of it like I was trying to reach the 4th dimension. We were 2 miles from the casino! So I got a ticket for that. To make matters worse I just got my license back and at the time of this ticket there was a fee, that I was unaware of, that I still needed to pay at DMV in order to receive my license, even though I had passed my road test! So he says "You only have a permit. Can I see her license?" Her license is all good but she is not very good at driving a manual and she has never driven my Si. So I also got a ticket for operating with a permit only. When he comes back to the car to hand me my tickets he says, "She's gonna have to drive." and I said ok and then she said uhh uhh. So I had to walk back to the cop car to tell him that she cannot drive which is when the "well it's gonna have to be towed" comes out. I told him we were 2 miles away from the casino and he let me drive it there. We gambled, lost some $, and when the coast was clear, I drove home.
Oh, and did I mention that my cars been hit twice! 5 tickets and 2 accidents since I picked the car up on Sept 2nd! Needs a new pass side fender and door.

5 tickets in about 3 months??? I'm not too sure you should be driving an SI. However, I am sure that when you get your next insurance bill, you'll realize how much you f'ed up.

Here in NY its usually a smaller fine in the big cities because they get alot more infractions there, which in turns lets the city make more money. Therefore the city doesnt have to charge a huge amount for a fine if they are getting say 3x the amount of fines as compared to a small town etc.

I had my 98 hatchback stolen from san antonio... it was a real sad moment, i put tons of work into that car, but the cops were really nice about the whole situation. They recovered (what was left of) the car.
my encounter was more like this,
officer(french) : 145 hm/h in a 100 zone
me: Nope I wasn't goig that speed, show me your radar
Officer: I don't have to
Comes back with a 260 $ ticket
me: see you in court buddy... what an ******* he was, I never tried so hard not to snap. I am all polite and he is treating me as if I was wanted for man slaughter.

Hah. You got it easy then. We here in san antonio are royally screwed if we get a traffic violation. Even as the city grows and the police make more and more money and issue more and more citations, the fines still stay the same. And lately they've gone up a little. So that sucks. Thank god for Defensive Driving.

Oops. I did say police didn't I. Sorry I meant the <U>city</U>. I knew that.
But anyway I see why some people don't like the police here. It seems like most of them are just out to bust everything that comes in front of them. Which is totally bogus. Funny how people hate the police for writing all those tickets.....but when the time comes and your car gets smashed, or your house gets vandalized, or your ex shoots you in the leg...who do they call first. DA LAW. IMO it's good to finally run into a cool officer that actually takes the time to recognize some positive traits of people and not just focus on the negative ones like some do.

CHP officers are pretty cool he could have hit me with much more than a speeding ticket when he clocked me at 122 in a 65 on 99 in northern California, I guess it helps that he hit his lights to turn around and I pulled over before he got all the way around and we were the only ones on the road.
