Engine hissing/noise under light acceleration?
Yeah I searched.
My 04 Type S just started making a slight hissing/rattle type noise under light to moderate acceleration. Does not do it on decel, or when clutch is in, and only very slighly in neutral.
50,000miles and no misshift.
Oil changed regularly, and recently.
I don' think it's a heat shield. I've had that before and fixed it already.
Dealer thought it was flex gasket. Replaced it but it made no diff.
Stock header.
No CEL, car runs strong, like normal.
Just had a new belt installed. No difference.
Noise can't be heard with windows down. Wind drowns it out.
Checked plastic engine covers, intake, random hoses and fittings, etc. Nuthin.
Just installed Ingalls TD. Maybe transmitting more noise?
Any ideas???

Either that, or you have either a vacuum or exhaust leak... which is doubtful.

i have what sounds like a slight hissing too ... but i figured out that it's coming from my amp/sub connection ... it sounds like it's draining out my battery or something, i dunno i havn't really looked into it yet.
You might find something in the audio section for that. Mine's definitely not audio related. I've narrowed it down to an exhaust leak or maybe a noisy injector or something.

I have an Icebox, but I've had it for 30,000miles and this noise is new. I think it's either flex gasket or worse, valve/injector/rocker arm...
The dealer *said* they fixed it when they replaced the flex gasket last week but it made no difference...I thrashed them on their email dealer survey since this was like the 5th time I've taken the car to them for something and have them give it back to me unfixed. They called last night, all apologetic, wanting another chance to fix it. Gonna take it in after Jan 1 to give them another shot.
